Creative & Pre-Ballet

 

Creative 1/2 - (ages 3-4) Sat., 9-9:45am & Mon., 3:15-4:00pm

Dress for Creative:

Girls = Light blue tank-top leotard, pink tights, pink shoes;

Boys = White t-shirt, black bike shorts, white socks, black ballet slippers.

 

Pre-Ballet - (ages 5-6) Sat., 9:45-10:30am

Girls = Navy blue tank-top leotard.

No required attire except tights and leotards, ballet slippers necessary.

An introductory class for ages 13 & up.. Some prior experience helpful.

 

Adult Intermediate Ballet

Tues., 6:30-8:00pm, Wed., 10-11:30am, Sat., 10:00-11:30am

Two-three years prior experience necessary. No required attire except tights

and leotards.

 

Trainee Technique & Pointe

Mon., 7:00-8:30pm & 8:30-9:00pm

Saturdays 11:30-1:00pm & 1:00-2:00pm

 

Trainee Rehearsals

Tues., 8:00-9:00pm, Sat., 2:00-3:00pm

 

Trainee Program is a paid, pre-professional program. Entrance by audition only.

Black tank top leotard, pink tights, pink ballet slippers. Black skirts allowed.

Dress for JAZZ & TAP & MODERN DANCE:

Black tank-top leotards with choice of pink or black tights for girls. Barefoot or

black jazz/tap shoes as needed. Boys wear white short-sleeved or tank-top leotard

with bike shorts, barefoot or white socks with black tap or jazz shoes.  No shoes necessary

for modern dance technique.

 

Hip Hop and Special Techniques

 

West African Percussion 1 (ages 8-10) No prior experience necessary.

Thur., 4:30-5:15pm

No required dress for African Percussion.

West African Percussion 2 (ages 9-11) Previous experience required.

Thur., 5:30-6:15pm

 

Hip Hop 1/2 - (ages 9-10), prior dance training helpful)

Mon., 7:00-8:00pm

 

Hip Hop 3/4 - (ages 11-15)

Mon., 8:00-9:00pm

 

Dress for HIP HOP:

Bike shorts/loose pants, t-shirt or leotard with sneakers or jazz shoes.

No jackets, earrings, sweatshirts, or cell phones in class.

 


 

BALLET FOR TEENS & ADULTS


ADULT INTERMEDIATE BALLET with BRETT RAPHAEL
TUESDAYS, 6:30-8:00pm & SATS., 10:00-11:30am ­ A solid workout with plenty
of technical challenges along the way.

ADULT INTERMEDIATE BALLET with ALFREDO MILLAN
WEDNESDAYS, 10:00-11:30am ­ Strong intermediate level for dancers up to the challenge.

ADULT BEGINNER BALLET with BRETT RAPHAEL
THURSDAYS, 6:30-8:00pm ­ A CBC tradition.....a floor stretch to world music,
basic ballet barre, and elementary cross-the-floor combinations.

 

ADULT BEGINNER BALLET with NICOLE GASTON

SATURDAYS, 9:00-10:00am - Solid workout with a clear introduction to basic ballet vocabulary.

 

Single class = $18.00; 10-class flex card = $140.00 plus $20 annual registration fee.

Flex cards expire after six-months.

General Dress Code Policy

 

Proper classroom attire, as designated for each class level, must be worn by all students.

Hair must be securely fastened off the face and neck. No jewelry, large earrings or

accessories are allowed. In the event of unreasonably cold conditions or at the discretion

of the instructor, students may wear form-fitting warm-ups. Bulky shirts, leg-warmers and

dance skirts are not allowed in class. Girls' hair should be in a "ballet bun" style-no pony

tails. Students with short hair must effect a smooth, close-to-the-head hairstyle. Braids or

rolls must be pinned up.

November 23-November 30, 2008 - Thanksgiving recess. 

December 14-January 4, 2009  - Holiday recess.

January 5, 2009 - Classes resume.

January 19, 2009 - Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.  School closed.

February 15-22, 2009 - Winter public school recess. School closed.

April 19-26, 2009 - Spring public school recess.  School closed.

May 23, 2009 - 'Education of the Dancer,' 7:00pm, Rich Forum, Stamford Center for the Arts, Stamford.

Tuition is non-refundable after second week of attendance. Work/Study and Financial Aid Scholarships are available.  Call to request a financial aid application.
Classes cancelled due to insufficient registration result in tuition refunds through the date of the final class. All rates subject to change.
